I am a Human Rights Defender, Media Specialist and Journalist in Hasht e Subh Daily Newspaper (in English, 8 a.m.) in Afghanistan. With more than 20 years of experience working with different organizations, including the Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission, I have gained a vast amount of experience in dealing with human rights issues in my country.

In my capacity as the Editor in Chief of the leading and largest independent newspaper, I have defined the human rights as a core value of the newspaper, and now Human Rights is a signature of my newspaper. In addition to working with media outlets, I have served in other organizations in top managerial positions. I was the Executive Director of Afghanistan Microfinance Association and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Organization for Integrated Development and Empowerment of Afghanistan (IDEA). I have also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Afghanistan New Generation Organization (ANGO) and also a board member of Aid Afghanistan for
Education (AAE).

I am currently an advisor and member of the board of directors to Afghanistan Journalists’ Center (AFJC). I am also a founding member of Afghanistan Analysis and Awareness (A3) a civil movement composed of the young educated and dedicated Afghans.
