With the begning of Syria’s crisis and arrival of refugees and Iraqi IDPs to Kurdistan, I had a good role in providing emergency response as a manager of Emergency Response Unit. Then as the manager of food distribution project in partnership with WFP, we delivered food to 12,000 families on monthly basis. In spite of having all of these different tasks, I did not stop working on women issues; I delivered many training on preventing Gender Based Violence and methods of supporting survivors as my believe on strength the capacity of the service provider and I was one of the activist whom stand against early marriage especially among IDPs and Refugees.
Now that I have been selected to participate in Human rights Defender Summit, I hope my participation will lead to improve the focus on the rights of women in Iraq, and it will be an opportunity for me to enrich my experience from other human rights activists in order to improve the conditions of human rights in Iraq and Kurdistan, especially for the refugees and IDPs.
